AGED AIAORI KILLED. (BY telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. Injuries sustained through being struck by a motor lorry at the corner of Customs Street and Little Queen Street this evening caused the death of an aged Alaori, Wetere, of Te hauwhata. The lorry, driven by Claude Francis Stevens, of Western Springs, Alorningside, was turning from Customs Street into Little Queen Street. Wetere was crossing the road when he was knocked down by the vehicle, which was promptly brought to a standstill. Wetere succumbed to his injuries at the Auckland Hospital less than an hour later. The only superficial injury, was a compound fracture of the left leg, and it is assumed that shock, accentuated by the man’s age. caused bis death.
