SUNDAY CONCERT.
COMPLIMENTARY RECITAL. The musicians of Hawera, including members or the. Municipal Rand, will tender Madame Gitta Alpar, the visiting Hungarian dramatic soprano, a complimentary recital to-morrow evening at 8.30. The entertainment, which it was originally proposed to hold in King Edward Park, will now he held in tne Opera House. A good .programme has been arranged, and it is hoped, by means of the collection to be taken up at the concert, that- the musicians and public of Hawera will be enabled to do a little towards assisting the visitor; who is now touring New Zealand in her endeavour to return to her own country. The following will be the. programme: March, “Boulder City,. Municipal Band; selection, “Classic Gems,” band; song, “The Blind Plowman,” Air* A. E. Morris; violin duet. “Marza” (Op. 7), Miss Margaret and Master Louis Fox; song “Ave Maria” (from “Othello”), Miss Reilly; recitation, selected, Miss Joan Moore; air varie. “The Harmonious Blacksmith” (Handel), band; song, “I Will Extol Thee” (from “Eli”), Mrs. Goodson ; recitation, selected, Mrs. Strange ; trombone solo, “The Jov Wheel, band; march. “Port Lincoln.” band; song, Air. Val. , Jones (Wellington), baritone; “God Save the King.”
