SWIMMERS AT HAWERA.

SEASON OPENING CARNIVAL. COMPETITIONS COMMENCED. Despite a threat of inclement conditions. mild woather favoured the Hawera Amateur Swimming Club’s first competitions of the season last evening, and a good attendance of spectators enjoyed the swiftly moving programme presented at thp Municipal Baths. Many of the best of the local .swimmers were seen in action, and representatives of the Wanganui, Opunake and Inglewood district c-lubs also appeared.
