LABOUR MOTION DEFEATED. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 20. In the House of Commons Mr. T. Johnson moved a Labour motion: "That the long continued unemployment of workers i.s of the greatest national concern, calling for a _ comprehensive national policy to stimulate production and relieve industry in necessitous arreahs of exceptional burdens.” Sir Arthur Steel-Maitland, replying, said lie was ready to bet the unemployment would be down to four per cent, by 1932, or three per cent, by 1933. The motion was rejected bv 256 votes to 102.
