JUVENILE WORKERS.
SHORTAGE EXPECTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT Received 9.30 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Dee. 16. The Ministry of Labour has circularised the local education authorities stating that as a result of the low birth rate during the war, which will become apparent in 1933, it is computed that the number of juveniles in employment is likelv to fall from the present 2,175,000 to 1,756,000, a decline of eighteen per cent, in six years. This must hinder the revival and development of trade. Alleviation would be possible by a transfer of selected juveniles to districts where there is a shortage.
