RUGBY.
SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR. CLOSE CONTESTS ANTICIPATED. (BY TBI.EGKA.PH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. Inc. 16 A well-known Rugby enthusmet in Capetown, writing to a friend in Wellington on the su o joe t of the up proa-- *•- ing visit of :lie All Blocks to Soldi Africa, says:. “We are all delighted to know that the team is so strong. Some of our experts predict that tha All Blacks will win, but the turning point will centre round the defence oi the Springboks. I cannot see cricket scores such as those at Sydney last year; an odd drop goal is going to make all the difference. The forwards will be evenly balanced, and I fancy we will have superiority at half-, lour centres, however, may gam the day. We are very disappointed with our centres again. “The' All Blacks must realise that the refereeing is going to be absolutely strict. It certainly was not so in the matches 1 saw in Australia last year. Your team must not get downhearted if the knock-on rule is interpreted with complete' strictness. It will be all quite fair but severe.”
