BALCLUTHA BOYS’ BAND.
(Tb the Editor.) Sir, —May J. enlist your help by making this appeal to the residents of Hawera. to (accommodate the members of tlie Ba.lclutha Boys’ Band on the occasion of their visit to our town on January o next. The Mayor of Bale.lutha and the bandmaster have written to me tasking far our help in this matter. Our local bandmaster, Mr Fox, informs me that he has heard tiiis band and that they are well worth hetardng. lam quite aware that owing to the holiday season it is inconvenient for many to billet any boys owing to absence from home, but still many will also remain home and those who can will, 1 feel sure, do what they can do assist. As we have a boys’ band in Hawera it will be to their 'benefit, to mingle with the visitors aud exchange ideas. If the public will respond to this appeal it will be .pleasing to know that Hiawem. has done its share. You know our own school band may some time venture on ex similar tour and it would be nice tb know that they were well received. Fealing confident that the response will he generous, I am, etc., K A. PACIFY. December IG, 1927.
