AN EXCITING CHASE.

WELLINGTON, June 2. An exciting chase of an alleged motor car tlnef took place last night and terminated in the arrest of the pursued.
It appear® -tlnat a t wo-seater roadster liad been stolen £mm Kilbirnie and a friend o.f the owner saw the stolen ear in Courtenay Place about 10.20. He followed the car in another, and when half way up Adelaide Road, the fugitive, while endeavouring to escape, collided with the pursuing car. The crowd joined in chase' and caught the man, who was handed over to the police. Roth cars were slightly damaged. t * A DRY MONTH. OHRLSTCHURCH. June 2. May was the driest month recorded here since' the 'observatory began in 1902, the rainfall being eighty per cent, below the average for May.
