Meteorological department. (by association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 1. Lately A hero has been a good deal of discussion regarding thei position of the pßev. D. C. Ratos under the reorganisation .scheme for the Meteorological Department. Inquiries elicit the information that there is no official suggestion that Mr Bates .should he retired front the public .service, or that lie should suffer a reduction in salary. Mr Rates will, in fact, be detailed for special work connected with the climatological records, of- thfe Dominion. Mr Kidson, the new director of the, Meteoro'ogical Office, will take over his duties early in August. ’BUSES COLLIDE. WELLINGTON, Juno 1. Two buses collided on Hutt Roiul. The windows of both were broken; and passengers of the; ’bus corning to Wellington from Eastbourne .suffered cuts, while, the driver was injured. FILM CENSOR. WELLINGTON. June 1.
