SHOOTING.

HAWERA GUN CLUB. GOOD TALLIES RECORDED. A successful shoot was held by the Hawera Gun Club last Wednesday. Through other attractions there was a small muster, but those in attendance maintained an excellent standard. The results were: First sweep, 6 birds —W. O’Brien (14 yds), 6 birds; D. Scott (13yds), 6; S. D. Coleman: (19yds), ,6; D. Coleman (11 yds), 2. Second sweep, 9 birds—W. 0 ’Brien (14yds), 9 birds; S. D. Coleman (19 yds), 8; D. Scott (13yds), 5; D. Coleman (11yds), 5; A. Hall (11yds), 5. Third sweep, 9 birds —W. O’Brien (15 yds), S birds; D. Coleman (10yds), 7; D. Scott (13yds), 5; S. D. Coleman (19 yds), 5; A. Hall (10yds), 4. Quail drive— W. O’Brien 1, S. D. Coleman 2, D. Scott 3. Fifth sweep, 6 birds- —D. Scott (14 yds}* 6 birds; S. D. Coleman (20yds), 5; W. O’Brien (16yds), 3. The leading positions in the progressive competitions for the Patron’s and Douglas , Cups are as follows: Patron’s Cup (best three shoots for season) —W. O’Brien, 33 birds; S. D.' Coleman, 29 birds;- D. Scott, 28 birds. Several other members are within a few points of. the leaders. Douglas Cup (for most first barrels during the season) —S. D. Coleman, 96; W. O’Brien, 88; D. Scott, 87. There are also five other shooters within striking.distance of-the; leaders.
