COMMENCING TO-MORROW. In to-morrow’s issue will appear the first instalment of our new serial “What Hargreaves Knew,” a mystery story by Reginald Temple, through which runs a charming romance. 6 Though the story follows certain well defined lines, it will be found that the characters are real people, who think and talk in a credible fashion. Hargreaves, the man who ‘‘knows things,’’ is under-butler to Sir John Fairfield, and though he is not cast in an heroic role, he is very human and he will gain the readers’ interest, even if he does not win the reader’s admiration. Further instalments will appear on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
