\ A KISS IN COURT. HAPPY ENDING TO ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE,. LEEDS. Dec. 24. There was a happy end to a case n.b L.eds Assizes yesterday. The jury had returned a verdict of “Not gui'ity'’ against Joseph, White, a, miner, who was charged with attempting to murder by strangulation, at Dalton, near Rotherham. Ivy Howard Hall, a young woman to whom lie* is engaged to be married. On White being discharged, the couple met in the corridor of the court and kissed each other. In evidence both White and the, girl said she.slipped and that in attempting to slop her falling White seized her by the neck, the injuries being'the result of an accident. Counsel for the defence said he hoped the. jury would make it possible for the couple to get married and live happy ever afterwards.
