THE DOMINION TOURNEY. i (by telegraph—press association.) PALMERSTON N., Jan. 26 ; The Dominion croquet championships were continued in glorious weather, when rapid progress was maintained. In some events tko semi-final stage has been attained and the remainder are well advanced, with the result that it is hoped the tourney will conclude next Saturday' or Monday. To-day’s results are:— DOMINION OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. First Round.—Airs Maddren defeated J. Murray, 2—l; Airs Jarvie defeated Airs Hogan, 2 —l. Second Round.—Chambers defeated Horner, 2—o; Archdeacon Creed Alercditli -defeated R. Caughley, 2 — o, CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. Third Round. —Alesdames Pitcaitlilcy and Watkins defeated Airs Robertson and J. Murray, 2G—3; A. G. Ross and Airs E. A. Johnson defeated Colonel Hume and Mrs Gambrill, 2G—II. LADIES’ CHAAIPIONSHIP. Second Round.—Airs Brighting defeated Airs Rhodes Williams, 26—7; Airs E. A. Smith defeated Airs Aloeller by default. Third Round.—Airs McAlurray defeated Airs Glennie, 2G—7; Airs Ate; Dowell defeated Airs Caldow, 2G—l4; Airs Watkins defeated Airs Brighting, 2G—4; Airs Tiffien defeated Airs Johnson, 26—15.
