Dalgetty and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from London under date of the 20th instant: — Lamb. —N.Z. prime crossbred lamb : Canterbury light 10Jd; heavy 7£d; market weaker; demand moderate. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has issued the following circular to dairy companies:— Sales in London.—For the fortnight ending January 21 the following quantities of dairy produce under control of the board have been sold: — Butetr—Creamery, 34,228 boxes, 172 s 6d; whey, 2952 boxes, 15'3s 3d. Cheese—3s,9l4 crates, averaging price 93s 9d per cwt. For the. purpose of assessing values it may be taken that the sales represent, to about the third week in October gradings in butter, and mid-October in cheese. Market.—We have the following cable dated January 21, 1927, from London: Butter—Prices unaltered. Australian, salted lG6s to 170 s, unsalted 170 s to 1745, stored 162 s to 1645; Argentine, 156 s to 160 s; Dutch, unsalted 188 s to 1925; Danish, 1765. F.o.b. Copenhagen price now advanced 172 s to 174 s and cleared. Market remains quiet. New season’s best, but last two days showed ed improved demand. Anticipate continued improvement. Considerable sale of stored round 1645. Retail prices unchanged. France and Germany, markets unchanged. Total New Zealand, Australian and Argentine, butter afloat January 20, 420,000, compared wit a 699.000 last year. Cheese —New Zealand prices unchanged. Market firm with steady demand. Australian, finest coloured, 93s to 945; stocks practically cleared; Canadian, finest white and coloured, 96s to 100 s; demand steady.
