PARK FETE.
COMMITTEE MEETING. The weekly general meeting of the Park Fete Committee was held m the Winter Show Hall last evening, Mr W. Grant presiding over an attendance of about 40 members. Reports were received from the various sub-committees set up for the purpose of arranging various branches of the entertainment. . It was decided that in view of the Egmont Racing Club’s summer meeting being held next Wednesday that the committee would meet on Monday and Friday evening’s in lieu of Wednesday. Mr Quin reported that ten business men of the town had promised to enter their vehicles in the' decorated ,ca.r classes. It was decided to give prizes of £2 2s and £1 Is in the commercial section, while a committee, consisting of Mesdames Curtis, Spragg and Villars, is to canvass for donations as prizes for the private car classes. A protracted discussion arose upon the question of whether workers should pay admission to the fete. Members were divided on the question. Eventually it was moved that everyone should pay admission. An amendment to the effect that workers should only pay one admission received little support, and the motion was carried.
