Produce is now coming forward in fairly heavy quantities, and. not since pre-war days has there been such a run of generally low prices. The millers are paying 5s 6d on trucks for February wheat, but are shy about subsequent months. With the very substantial margin that is to be made out of imported hour they can scarcely be expected to speculate much in futures. Algerian oats are being offered freely, and some sales have taken place at 2s 3d a bushel on trucks. The sample generally is good. Gartons are quoted at 2s 6d to 2s Bd, but there is practically no buying. Chaff is quoted at £5 2s 6d a ton, at which some purchases have taken place. From £3 5s to £3 7s Cd on trucks covers the offer. Potatoes are quoted at £4 10s f.o.b. sacks in, or £3 5s to £3 7s 6d on trucks. Purchases of April deliveries have been made at the latter price.
