BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO THE STARWELLINGTON, Jan. 24. The Wellington meeting was concluded to-dav in fine -weather, the tiack being very fast. _ „ . Vesperus wound up a very good lavourite for the Wallacevillo High-weight. Son o ’ Mine led out from Oriflamb, Tanadiee and Lady Passenger, 'with. Bennanee and Ardfinnan last. At the six furlongs post Oriflamb had taken charge from Son o ’ Mine, Wedding March and Tannadiee,, with Capitulation and Vesperus last. Capitulation had gone up second to Oriflamb crossing the top with No Favours, Wedding March and Son o' Mine next. Wedding March ran up to Oriflamb and Capitulation at tho false rails, where No Favours was under punishment. Wedding March went on to beat Capitulation by a head, with Vesperus, finishing fast, a neck away third. No Favours, Son o’ Mine, Oriflamb and Ardfinnan were next.

Stormy was a hot favourite for the Kelburn Handicap, but his backers were soon out of suspense, for he almost fell over at the barrier and lost about ten lengths. Royal Game, Jemidar and Gardant led out from Kilmiss, but passing the six furlongs barrier Jemidar, Royal Game and Gardant led Mountain Tod, with Assurance six lengths from the leaders and Stormy another three lengths away last. At the turn Gardant, Jemidar and Royal Game led Outfit, Kilmiss and Assurance with Stormy up with the field. Assurance ana Kilmiss drew out in the straight, Assurance winning by half a length from Kilmiss, with Outfit four lengths away. Stormy was fourth and Jemidar and Some Lad next. Stormy was a certainty beaten. High Finance was a decided favourite for tho Hopeful Stakes. Melissa, Laity, Auratum, Reckless and Silver Coot appeared to begin best, but racing on to the course proper Silver Coot led Melissa and Reckless with Wild Pigeon n n d Laity most forward of the others. Silver Coot drew ajvay at the end to beat Melissa by two and a half lengths, with Laity half a length away third. High Finance was fourth and''Chips, Priceless, Sudden Storm and Reckless next.

Horomea wound up favourite for the Melrose Handicap in a great betting race. Hymill led out from Horomea, Crossbow, Serotina and Starboard Light and Bronstell. Hymill led across the top from Horomea, Serotina, Starboard Light, Bronstell, Crossbow, and Battle Colours. At the turn HymUl still led from Starboard Light, Serotina, Horomea and Battle Colours. Black Mint and Gold Mint made a belated appearance in the straight and, running past the leaders, Black Mint beat Gold Mint by a head. The Hawk, Rascal, Deluge and Grand Knight began best and, at the end of a furlong, Deluge led Joy King, First Acre, Rascal, Centrepiece and Grand Knight, with Reremoana last. Crossing the top Deluge led Rascal, Centrepiece, Grand Knight and Penman. Racing for the turn Rascal and Deluge were still in front from Centrepiece, Penman, Grand Knight, The Hawk and First Acre. Centrepiece went across and interfered with Grand Knight at the false rail, where First Acre came through. Centrepiece and First Acre were joined 100 yards from homo by Grand Knight and, in a great battle to the post, Centrepiece beat First Acre by a head, with Grand Knight half a length away third. The Hawk was fourth and Inferno, Reremoana and Rascal were next. In the Consolation Handicap, Hynanna and Civility had a good battle for favouritism, Hynanna winding up with the honours and there being good money for Clarinda and Front Rank. Civility, Clarinda and Alloway began best with Mandane and Front Rank running off the course at the turn, Front Rank being ridden hard. Alloway was in front at the mile post from Civility, Royal Mint, Mandane, Clarinda and Perle de Leon. Crossing the top, Front Rank and Mandane led Civility, Alloway, Royal Mint and Clarinda with Hynanna last. At the turn, Front Rank and Mandane led Alloway, Civility, Clarinda, Royal Mint and Hynanna. The last named ran to the front at the false rail and, going on, won easily by two lengths from Civility. Clarinda was two and a half lengths away third and Mandane, Perle de Leon, Alloway and Fresco came next. Shirley, High Pitch and Mimetic carried the bulk of the money in the City Handicap. Nadarino, Shirley, High Pitch and Booster began best. Racing on to the course, proper, Corn Money led Shirley, Booster and Benzora, with High Pitch handy. Shirley stayed on to beat Benzora by half a length, with Booster half a length away third. Corn Money was fourth and Receipt and High-Hitch next.

In the concluding event the betting took a wide range. Dimmer, Royal Tractor, Sagittarius, Lady Ideal, Aston and Folly led on to the course proper, where Lady Ideal petered out and Aston came through with Bank Note and Orazone. Crown Area then appeared and going on beat Aston by a length, with Orazone a head away third. Bank Note, -Sagittarius, King's Folly, Dimmer and Kilmezzo, nearly in line, were next.
