TRAIN SERVICES CANCELLED. THREE DEATHS REPORTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT BRISBANE, Jan. 24. Terrific tropical rains are still falling along the Queensland coast, and it is reported that the greater part of the coastal belt is flooded. At Byron . Bay, over 23J inches of rain have fallen this month. Creeks and rivers are running bank high. Much low-lying land is under water, and the railway services are interrupted. There have been several wash-outs on the Brisbane-Townsville line, and at least five bridges have been washed away. Received 11.30 a.m. to-day. BRISBANE, Jan. 24. f urther heavy rain caused a cancellation of all northern trains. The Burdekin and Herbert rivers are fiooled, while reports from practically all the southern centres state' that flood conditions prevail. The rain is still falling, with every indication of contaiumg. Three drowning fatalities have sc far been reported. The town of Nambour is isolated and is surrounded by Hood waters. _ Details are meagre, as all communication with the flooded districts is disorganised.
