A unique wedding was celebrated in the Town Hall on Saturday night, when Alex Francis Smith, advance agent ol the Commonwealth band and a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Smith, of Brisbane, was married to Miss Marion Elizabeth Rise, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rice, of Dannevirke. The "ceremony was performed in the hall prior to the band concert by the Rev. H. Daniel, assisted by Mr. S. I. Biekerstaff. Mr. H. Baile, conductor, acted as best man. The building was ■iowded iand great interest was taken n the ceremony. Using an explosive, burglars blew open the safe at the King George Theatre at Lower Hutt at four o’clock this morning.
