SYDNEY, Jian. 22, The annual congress of the Australian Workers’ Union defeated a motion to- have the policy of the organisation changed from arbitration to direct action In order to redress the workers’ grievances. It was decided by an overwhelming majority to leave any disputes to be settled by the arbitration co u rt.
