AIA NAAY ATU TOTT RN A MEN T. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION./ PALMERSTON N., Jan. 21. At the Manawatu croquet tournament the surprise of the day- was the defeat of Mrs Johnson (Christchurch) and R. Caughley (Wellington) by Mrs Gambrill (Manawatu) and Colonel Hume (Nelson) by 26 to 0. The latter pair are comparatively new players as far as tournaments are concerned, while Caughley has held the open singles championship and his partner was three times the ladies’ champion.
