♦ BANKER REGARDSJT FAVOURABLY. SV CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON. Jan. 20. Ai the annual meeting of Barclay’s Bonk. .Mr F. C. Goodenough, (.Lawman, took a favourable view oi the trade out ook. Ho said that with commonsen=e on both sides in industry, there should be new opportunities for development in the export, trade, particularly with the Dominions and the colonies, while with a favourable trade ha,ance and the elose co-oporation, of tho Bank of England and the 'reserve banks abroad, especially in the British Dominions, wo should certainly bo able to improve the gold position without anv material alteration of the old system. This would not only dove op the visible nn«l invisible exports, but would build un tlm solidarity of the Empire.
