Market is firm. Danish, 180 s. Australian 168 s. Cheese. —White 86s to 87s, coloured 81s to 82s. Very slow. WESTFIELD PRICES. AUCKLAND, Aug.. 4. At the Westfield sale to-day there was a small yarding of ox beef, but the quality and finish was exceptionally good, with a decided improvement in all classes, light cattle being the. best value per 1091 b. Cows and heifers were penned in average numbers, the prices also showing a slight improvement. Extra, choice and prime ox made 36s per 1001 b, choice and prime 33s 6d to 3-js. and just killable 29s to 31s Gd. Prime young cow and heifer beef was worth from 27s to 30s.

There was a large yarding of sheep, there being little or no change in values, but the sale eased slightly toward the 'finish. . Extra heavy prime wethers made 31. s to 365, heavy prime 32s to 33s 9d, medium 29s 6d to 31s 9d. small and unfinished 21s Gd to 245, best heavy prime ewes 245. medium 21s to 22s Gd, light and unfinished 16s to 19s.

Pigs.—An average yarding, which sold readily under keen competition. Choppers made £3 10s to £6 12s, medium and heavy baeoners £4 10s to £6 4s, light baeoners and heavy porkers £3 10s to £4 2s, and medium and light porkers £2 18s to £3 6s.
