FIRES NEAR AUCKLAND.
(by TELEGRAPH FRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 5. A ten-roomed house at T© I'apapa, occupied by Mr W. Cartney, his. wife, and four young children, was destroyed by fire last night, together with tho contents. The occupants escaped in their night attire. While the Oneh.un.ga brigade was fighting: thei fire at To Papa,pa, an unoccupied six-roomed house at Onehunga, owned by J. Broadhurst. wAs almost completely destroyed bv lire.
