• PLOT NOT SERIOUS. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT MADRID, June 25. A semi-official message minimises the political plot, which is declared to 'be of Communist rather than Liberal character. The officer's involved acted individually. Nevertheless, arrests were made, and those arrested will be tried by a competent tribunal.

AGAINST DE RIVERA. . .PARIS, June 26. Le Matin says the insurrection in Spain, is directed. .against General Prime de Rivera, - with whom _ the Juntas officers are most, dissatisfied owing to his reintroduotiom of the method of promotion in the army by choice instead of seniority. The discontented officers have joined .political elements hostile to the Government. ROYALTY ENTHUSIASTICALLY FARE WELLED. MADRID, June 26. Their Majesties departed for Paris, en route to England, where King Alfonso will receive an honorary degree from Oxford University. They had; an enthusiastic send-off. The Prime Minister, in a. 'Statement to the Press, declared that the plot was organised by a few persons on the pretext that they had been deprived of liberty and a. genuinely constitutional regime. The Prime Minister claims that an immense majority of Spaniards wish the present regime and Government to continue, and demand .severe measures against unscrupulous persons seeking to disturb the country. The Government has decided on vigorous action against the culprits.
