The factory manager’s' house at Eltlia.m lra.il a narrow eis'cape from destruction by tire at about half-past two o’clock this afternoon. Eire broke out in the wash-house, it is surmised from the' copper fireplace, and that building was almost totally destroyed. The efforts of volunteer helpers, however, were successful in saving the house, although one corner was badly seorchde. Mr C. Horroeks is th'e occupant.
