WEDDING.

BLACK MORE—JACKSON. A wedding of considerable .local interest was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Hawera, on Tuesday, June 1, when Ellen I'Torence, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs It. V. Jackson, of Normanby, was married to. Arthur Blackmore, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Blackmore, Te Horo, Otaki. The Bey Air Monaghan was the officiating o’ergyman.

The bride v who was given away Jbv her father, looked charming in a frock of ivory silk ottoman and georgette, adorned with pearls and silver lace. She wore a handsome veil of tulle embroidered in silver, with coronet of 1-K‘arts and orange blos-soms, and eari i*2td iL shower bouquet of white rose® and chrysanthemums. Her sister. Miss Vera Jackson, and Misis Olive Jones, friend of the bride, attended her as bridesmaids, wearing frocks of pale-lilue'crepe-de-cliene and pale pink m-or-rocain respectively, with dainty hats to match, and carried small posies of hi tie and pink flowers, with tube and silver streamers. Little Joan Brough acted as flower..girl. wearing lavender erepe-de-chene trimmed with silver, with bandeaux of silver eaves, and also carried posy to tone. Mr Douglas .Blackmore, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the. duties of best man, and was assisted by Mr George Jackson, brother of the bride, a.s groomsman.

Alter tto ceremony a reception was held in the Carlton Tea Booms, where a pleasant time was spent by the many guerts assembled.

The happy couple ’eft for Auckland' amid showers of confetti and the good wishes of all for tliefr future prosperity, the bride wearing a smart mauve tailored costume, with grey hat and furs.
