A SECRET POISON.
ON TUTANKHAMEN’S CASKET. CAUSED DEATH OF LORD CARNARVON. BY CABLE—PBE9B ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT. NEW YORK, June 17. Dr. Frederick Cowles', a fellow of the Roya] Geographical Society, who recently returned from Egypt, says that Lord Carnarvon’s death was traced directly to a poison coating upon Tutankhamen’s casket, and the illness of a number of others, engaged in the excavation of the tomb was also traced to the same source.
The poison coniine on the casket had crumpled into dust, but evidently had not lost anv of its strength. He added that the qualities of this poison, like the gold furniture in tha tomb made, by the ancient Egyptians, far surpassed anything produced by modern civilisation.
