ABORTIVE CONFERENCE. \ WILL DEAL WITH NEW UNION COASTAL STRIKE CONTINUES. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, March 29. The coastal steamship owners continued their conference with the representatives of the transport group in an endeavour to settle the strike, but after lengthily considering the dispute the owners announced that unless a new body could be formed, with leaders different to the present Seajnen’.s Union, they regretted a settlement could not be reached.
