Details of the coming world Labour Congress on migration are disclosed _bv the Paris correspondent of the Daily Herald (the Labour paper). It appears that the organisation of the congress, which opens at London on. May 18, was discussed yesterday by a joint committee consisting of Messrs Merens, Jouhaux and Brown, on behalf of the Labour and Socialist International, and Messrs Cramp and Debrouckere on behalf of the International Federation of Trade Unions. ... It was decided to issue invitations to affiliated national Labour organisations, also Labour movements in other countries interested in the problem, such as Japan, China, India, the United States and Mexico. The joint committee will submit a long report on the importance of the perils arising out of the migration of yellow races in the Far East, dealing with the economic as well as the racial aspect. The report will also deal with European migration problems, instanced bv the fact that the foreign population of France is estimated to he at least 2,000,000. of which half are said to ho Italians.
