Anderson (Dunedin’) by 151. FIRE AT MARTON. MARTON, Nov. 26. A shop and dwelling occupied by G. Walls was damaged to the extent of £2OO by fire at two o’clock this morning. The property was insured. Suspicious circumstances attended the outbreak, which caused much consternation iu the business community in view of previous attempts at incendiarism in the town. HULK FOR BREAKWATER. GISBORNE, Nov. 26. The Hinemoa, with the rulk Tahine in tow, arrived at Waikokopu yesterday. The hulk will be filled with boulders and concrete. Anchors have been laid and a tunnel driven into the cliff to provide material for filling the gap of 56ft. between the Taluiie and the shore. The. sinking of the vessel will probably take place some time next week. ANNUAL CONFERENCES AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Nov. 26. The annual conference of the New Zealand Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Federation was attended by 30 delegates. Thirty-three remits were considered, dealing with matters affecting the business generally. The annual conference of the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce opened this morning, delegates being weicorned bv the Mayor, Mr. Inpley.
