WANGANUI WOOL SALE. FARMERS’ CO-OP. SOCIETY. The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society reports as under: We held our first wool sale of the season at Wanganui yesterday, when we submitted a catalogue of 560 bales to a full bench of buyers, representatives of Bradford, the Continent, Japan, American and local mills. The bulk of our wool comprised average crossbred, with a few choice lots. Competition was fairly keen, but the bidding was slightly slack and seldom animated, and prices were somewhat erratic. The bulk of the realisations, however, were about on a par with the recent Wellington and Napier sales, although the prices for medium and good wools were -ruling possibly slightly in the buyers’ favour. Perhaps the most pleasing feature of the sale was the more general competition, which put a healthier tone in the market, despite the slight decline in some lots. Some of our realisations were as follow: \V. Smith (Stratford), crossbred 13|d ; Jno. Forbes (Normanby), hoggets 14gd- H. J. Kaye (Toko), ewes 13Jd; A. L. Campbell, _ crossbred 13d; H. Cook (Toko), mixed hoggets 14d ; A. E. Death, hoggets 13d; A. L. Bremer, Romney wether 13)d, Lincoln wether 13d, Romney ewes 13-)d; Jas. Hine (Waitara), hoggets 14|d, ewes 13jd; Ed. Marfell, hoggets 13ijd; McCarthy Bros., hoggets 13fd, wethers 13d; A. E. Symes (Waverley), crossbred 13)d, lambs 14)d; A. J. Corrigan (Hawera), hoggets 16)d, Southdown 16) d; A. G. Robertson (Hawera), wether 13id; J. Livingston (Hawera), hoggets and wethers 14d; Best’s Estate, hoggets 14£d; C. M. Hawken (Tahora), crossbred 12)d; A. C. Schmidt (Waitotara), ewes 12) d.
