TARANAKI OILFIELDS. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. j NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 24. The Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., report that the Tarata bore has been drilled to 3855 feet, and is' in shale, the ground being very sticky. Casing is down to 3526 feet. At Moturoa the bore has been drilled to 2163 feet, and is in hard, coarse sandstone. Water has been satisfactorily shut. off. There is a trace of oil.
