OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “IDLE TONGUES.” Through the efforts of Thomas H. Tnce his thousands of readers may now see the Joseph CJ. Unco! n characters with their own eyes. For “Doctor Nye”. has been filmed, under the title “Idle Tongues,” and this First National picture opens at the Opera House to-night. These characters of Lincoln’s are true to life and their prohlentts are intensely interesting,. Furthermore, the settings are in harmony with Cape Cod, aud the entire production carries out the spirit of the Joseph C. Lincoln stories? of New England. The picture is given an excellent east, which includes Percy Marffiont, Doris Kenyon, and many others. The supports include comedy, scenic, and topical.

EMPRESS PICTURES, MANAIA, TO-MORROW. Th©re is something fascinating about the Western stories of Zane Grey. Their virile, forceful action, and vivid descriptions, make excellent reading. And now these stories are translated to the screen with the same forceful handling. “The Border Legion,to be screened at the Empress Pictures, Ma. naia, is perhaps the best of Zane Grey’s novels, and has been produced under the (supervision of the author himsel’f. It makes one of the greatest fight and thrill pictures of the year. A 1 GREAT ACTOR. “Dramatic art at its highest elevation is the only description that can be given to the memorable and epic performance of Maurice Moscovitch, the great character actor, who took the large audience by storm last night an liis great characterisation of Anion Raga.tzy, the quack doctor in Dortoby Brandon’s drama, ‘The Outsider’.”

This is how the critic of the New Zealand Times began his notice of “The Outsider,’’ the phenomentally successful play to be staged for one night only at the Opera House on Wednesday night next. The same critic goe s on to say: “A remarkable and tensely dramatic play, based On a bold and novel plot, “The Outsider” calls for remarkable gifts of characterisation from the central figure _of Anton Ragatzy, but the role fits like a glove the geiiiu s who interprets it. Nothing more brilliant than Moscovitch T s' acting in this tense drama of emotions has been seen in Wellington.” Miss .Jean Robertson, a c the crippled gii-1, Lalage Sturdee, is said to give a de’iehtfui portrayal of the sensitive, artistic, and heart-hungry girl, longing for a healthy body. Her emotional appeals are finelly handled, and her performance is worthy that of Moscovitch. The box plan will open at Mrs. Cook’s sweet shop next Monday morning.
