HIBERNIAN BALL. A GREAT SUCCESS. The committee responsible for the arrangements in connection with the fraud ball organised in aid of the hew Convent School Bidding Fund is to lie congratulated on the success attending its efforts. The Town Hall last night wa« tilled with dancers and nl 1 thor>l y enjoyed the evening. It is estimated that lully/two hundred and fifty people were present. The hal ! was prettily decorated, the sump being especially artistically arranged with ferns, evergreens and pot clants. This work wa s in the hands of Mesdames Sherlock and Cosgrove. The supper arrangements and decoratof the tables were carried out by Misses Long, Ryan and Vine. The dainty supper provided was much appreciated by a’l. The general committee, which had the direction of the w hole arraneements, was as follows: Mesdames Duggan, E. Long, J. Rus- • dl. M. Shanahan, M. Keppell, E. 'Tne. J. Christie, P. Jane, E. Howard, P. J. Howard, J. Kavanagh, D. Davis, r. Welder, M. Landers, . Cosgrove, 'AcHook, Mowat, H. Sutton. F. Moutrie ml Misses Vine, Long and Ryan. The •renoral secretary was Mr J. A. G. Covrrove. All co-operated well to se■■‘•ue the success that was their objective. The music was supplied by Cosgrove’s orchestra, comprising four instruments —Mrs Mudford (piano), Mr M. Turner vi lin), Mr G. While (drums and of<.l, and J. Cosgrove (cornet). The inus’C was much appreciated. A large number of extras were a’so played by 'of'l raid visiting ladies. The M’s.C. were Messrs L. Hughes, E. Long iunr., J. Daley and T. Walsh, and all were assiduous in looking after the comfort and convenience of the guests. The floor was in capita l order, and the evening was voted altogether one of the events of the season. The fund will benefit materially from the efforts of the committee.
