Quite recently the Grey town Borough Council decided to re-name all streets carrying foreign, names (state's the Wairarapa Age). In connection with this the following letter was read at the council’s last meeting: “Take notice that unless you can prove before the Minister of Public Works, Parliament, and myself that you have bought and paid for Great Frederick Street, Bismarck Street, and King William Street; failing this it will cost you the sum of no less than £1:50 per acre to change the names of those streets. As regards Vogel Street and Hit 1 sell berg Street, I will fight you to the bitter end before you change.' these names. Will lie glad to hear from you. —Yours truly, Gustny A.
