BY CABLE— PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT LONDON, July 22. The Overseas Trade- Department has created a new post, that, of InspectorGeneral of Overseas Trade Services, and lias apjKiinted thereto Mr. W. J. Olenny, at present occupying a high post, whoso duties will include the supervision and co-ordination of tho work of trade commissioners all over the Empire- and similar officials in foreign countries, lie will lie expected to travel for eight months each year reporting u]X)ii conditions. Scotland Yard has issued the- description of Mr. .Joseph Victor Collins, an American mathematics master, who is aged 65. With his wife and daughter he had been for three weeks visiting London. Mr. Collins left- his daughter at the- corner of Guildford -Street in order to go to King’s- Cross, and- he has not since -been seen. He had £O3O in notes and credit cheques jn his possession.
Replying to a deputation of Lancashire and Cheshire Conservative members of Parliament, who urged the necessity for increasing Lancashire’s supply of Empire cotton, Mr. L. C. M. S. Amery (Secretary of State for the Dominions) expressed entire agreement with tho deputation.
The Morning Post, in an editorial today regarding the cruiser controversy, concluded by stating: “'Whatever may lie the- result of the difference between Mr. Baldwin (Premier) and Air. Bridgeman (First L-ord of the Admiralty), we may be- sur c it is an honest one, and free from any intrigue or manoeuvre.”
