EVACUATION OF THE RUHR.
REJOICINGS IN THE CITIES. BY CABLE- -PEESS ASSOCIATION--COPYRIGHT BERLIN, July 22. The ringing of church bells, the blowing of trumpets and general rejoicings in the streets of the Ruhr at midnight greeted the end of the Franco-Belgian occupation. Enthusiastic crowds at Beehum and Gelzenkirchen sang patriotic songs. The hoisting of the black, white and red flag at an hotel at Beehum led to a conflict between the Republicans and Nationalists, the former demanding the removal of the flag. ' The police arrested several persons, and peace was restored after the proprietor, at the request of the police, removed the flag.
