AN HONOUR WITHDRAWN. 3Y CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT (Received Julv 15, 2.35 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. A special meeting of the Sligo Corporation rejected by 11 votes to 9 a proposal to enforce a resolution passed in 1920 conferring the freedom of the town on Arclibishox) Mannix because of his special services to the Irish Republic.
A councillor led the opposition _to the granting of the freedom, declaring that the proposal introduced politics and therefore should not be entertained.—Reuter.
