BIG ORDER FOR BRITAIN.
CONTRACT WON FROM GERMAN FIRMS. The ability to give early delivery has secured for British industry a contract for thirty-five passenger locomotives. They lilave been ordered by the Egyptian State Railways from the North British Locomotive Works at .£0,245 each. Ten of the locomotives are to be delivered in twenty-five weeks, and the order will, he comjpleted in th irty-six weeks. Austrian and German firms tendered much lower than the British, hut better delivery conditions secured the contract.
