THE SMILE CASTLE
A CORNER ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN.
THE CASTLE PLEDGE. I promise to smile every time I can. and to chase all the frowns into the dark cave, where the Smile Giant will kill them with his Magic Sword Happiness.
Good Evening, Smiles ! Now, let me see, how many have missed the fairy flying machine ? Ah! That tells tales. Some have not been going to bed early enough and have had to stay at home to-night. What is that I heal ; Explain it again! So T shall. For those who are just new Smiles or who intend to belong to our family. I repeat this. Smiles TEST smile. Anyone who breaks the pledge during the week will be left out of Saturday's fun. You must be kind, thoughtful, and loving. Fairy Wide'.awake watches the family closely and reports on you. It is very important, too, that all the Health rules should be kept. Health and Happiness are twins and must go together. T should like to urge that all my family f Smiles go to bed early. Did you hear that last word? EARLY'. Some have been up far too late. That is why they are not here to-night. On Saturday, go to bed, mv beautiful, big. new, fairy aeroplane glides down and waits to bring you to the Castle. When you are asleep, you hear the tingling of the bluebells at vour bedside. Y'ou open your eyes, and behold a Night Fnirv in a sparkling dress of dark blue night lights, trimmed with touches of moon or star rays. She touches your forehead with her gbtterino- magic wand, and at once you are no bigger than the fairy. 'Sou jump*out of bed, take her hand, and, after the passwords have been exchanged awav vou flv through the window, over the garden to Rendezvous Alley, where you embark with your mates in my fairy ship. Ep and on you float, gazing down on the sleepy earth below, till soon you reach the Castle. Now, should you go to 1 bed late, you cannot hear the bluebells ri„c, or ’vou mav' have forgotten the password. You are not ready and we leave without you. Don’t be left behind! Such a clatter there is sometimes ! I don't wonder that your Mothers regret holidays. The Castle is still full of all the rubbish—your sticks with dolls on, etc. —which you brought from the Show. What fun the gnomes had each night after the Show was over. Ail the animals, dolls, toys and tilings had a really good time when all the people were sent home. word on your essays. 1 am rather disappointed more did not enter. Nor are the attempts received as good as I expected. Read more and' try to develop a better imagination. 1 want original ideas Perhaps vou can draw better. Get busy on the man’s worn boot. Next Friday I shall be out in the garden. Ell tell you about it all on Saturday next. Let's have a romp now. ' Love to all from, SMILE QUEEN.
