GOVERNMENT INTER VENES. CONFERENCE WITH THE MEN. BY CABLE -PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received July 10, 1.35 p m. 'LONDON, July 9. The Government lias intervened in the mining dispute. The Hon. Mr. Bridgeman, accompanied by the Minister for Labour and the Secretary for Mines, saw the central committee of the Mining Association, who explained to him their wage proposals and the present position of negotiations. Mr. Bridgeman invited the Miners’ Federation to a similar meeting. It is understood that Mr. Cook, the secretary, m'eet-s him to-morrow. —Reuter.
