At Westfield sale there was a large yarding of beef, which sold at- late rates. Quotations: Extra choice ox 33s per 1001 b, choice and prime 29s to 325. other 20s to 28s, prime young cow and heifer beef 27s to 295, medium quality 23s to 255, other 16s to 225. Sheep sold under keen competition at advanced prices : Heavy prime wethers £2 2s to £2 5s 9d, medium prime wethers £l^l9s to £2 Is Gd, light prime £1 15s to £1 18* Gd, others £l. 10s to £1 14s, best heavy prime £1 13s to £1 15s, medium quality £] 9s to £1 11s-, others 18s to £1 Bs.

Pigs again met with a ready sale. Choppers made £3 to £4 10s. heavy baconers £4 7s to £4 17e, light and medium baconers £3 18s to £4 _ Gs, heavy porkers £3 8s to £3 16s, light and medium £2 14* to £3 7s. Lambs sold at late rates. Best prime made £1 11s to £1 13s. light- prime £1 Ss to £] 10s, others £1 2s to £1 17s.

DAIRY PRODUCE GRADING FIGURES. The figures of the Dairy Division ofthe Department of Agriculture show that for the 11 months ended June. 1925. there were graded 65,289 tons of salted and' 4572 tons of unsalted butter, a total of 69.561 tons, compared with 57.749 tons and 3464 tons, a total of 61,213 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 14.1 per cent. The cheese graded for the 11 months ending June were: White 45,912 tons, coloured 23.897 tons, n total of 69.809 tors, compared with 45.324 tons white and 28.486 tons coloured, a total of 72.810 tons, for the corresponding period- of the preceding season, a decrease of 5.4 per cent. Converting these figures into butterfat equivalent, there is an increases of 7.1 aer cent in butter-fat production for the 11 months, as compared with Ihe corresponding period of the 1923-24 season. Stocks held in the various grading ports at June 30, 1.925, were : Butter. 2441 tons; cheese. 1441 tons.
