Both sides are awaiting the result of the Sydney' union delegates’ visit to Melbourne to interview the Steamship Owners’ Association. CONFERENCE WITH UNION. . REFUSED BY’ OWNERS. MELBOURNE, Julv 9. The Owners’ Association refused to hold a conference with the union delegation from Sydney, but allowed them to put their case before the owners. Certain proposals were made by the unionists, and the owners then announced they would consider the proposals, but would adhere to their previous decision and not participate in the agreement entered into by the Commonwealth Line and the marine transport group. MORT’S DOCK TROUBLE ENDED. \ SYDNEY, July 9. After a conference between the management of Mort’s Dock and. the men, with Mr Lang present, the men gave an undertaking that they would prosed to work uninterruptedly, and the management decided to reopen the works on Friday. There will be no victimisation, and’ tiie summons issued by the management against the unions concerned will be withdrawn.
