BITTEN BY DOG.
GIRL’S SEVERE INJURIES. Olive Oane, the thirteen-year-old daughter of Mr. Walter Oane, Lincoln Road, Christchurch, received shocking injuries when attacked by a dog at the home of a friend on Wednesday last'. Stooping down to pick up a. reel of cotton which she had dropped, the girl was pounced upon by the dog. It first tided to get the reel away from her, and failing, elawed angrily at her, face, and hit a piece off her nose. At the Christchurch Hospital it was found that the unfortunate girl’s injuries were severe. ” Seven stitches: had to be let into the flesh at the lower part of her left eye, while flesh had to he grafted on to her nose. The dog, a spaniel, has since been' destroyed.
