NEW YORK, July 7. Mr Bernard Baruch, formerly chairman of the War Industries Board, has donated 250,000 dollars for research for a method to remove profits lrom war through the conscription of wealth. The fund is to be administered by the Wa’ter Hines Page School of International Relations connected with the John Hopkins University. Mr Baruch has for ]ong advocated conscription of wealth and industry during war-time as a deterrent to the activities of “jingoes” m peace time. He believes the measure to be a powerful agency in preventing war. The Page School for the purposes of research into the causes \of war was founded in memory of the United States war ambassador to Eng'and.
