General Andrews, chief of the prohibition enforcement, is concentrating guardsmen afloat and ashore to prevent bootleggers’ ships supplying Boston and manufacturing town s iii Massachusetts. President Coolidge is expected to recommend a larger appropriation for enforcement in the event of the failure of the attack. Swampscott is a favourite haunt for smugglers, owing to the number of its bays and inlets. A three thousand dollar liquor cache was recently discovered in an unoccupied house ' adjoining the President’s residence, resulting in the arrest of the chief of police at Swampscott.
