HAWERA N.D.A. CONFERENCE. DELEGATES APPRECIATE HOSPITALITY. Warm appreciation of, the hospitality extended by the people of Hawera and South Taranaki generally to the delegates to the recent conference of the National Dairy Association is conveyed in the following letter to the Mayor of Hawera (Mr E. A. Pacey) from Mr C. D. Backhouse, secretary of the Association:— “On behalf of the National Dairy Association’s delegates who attended Hawera Show Week for the annual conference, etc., I have much pleasure in expressing their appreciation for the way in which they were entertained at Hawera, and I would like you, on behalf of the association, to thank all those good people who helped to make the arrangements so satisfactory. Without a doubt, and although we have held splendid conferences in the past, the Hawera conference was the one most appreciated, both from a conference point and entertainment point of view, and 1 venture to say also that it will not be very long before you will have, our delegates back to Hawera. I wish also to thank you personally for the assistance which you gcre to our delegates, and I can assure you that everything that was done was appreciated by all.” Appreciation of the organising xvork done by Mr L. O. Hooker, secretary of the Winter Show Association, is ac- 1 knowledged in the following letter to hand from Mr Backhouse: — J ‘‘ On behalf of my directors I desire \ to put on record our deep appreciation for the assistance which'you have given this association in connection with the entertaining and arrangements made for our delegates at the Hawera conference. Without a doubt every delegate was very well pleased with the arrangements, and I did not hear of one disgruntled man amongst the 400 who were there. This says a lot for the organising work which you were responsible for, and I can only conclude in again thanking you on behalf ot the association for the assistance you have given. ’ ’
