LICENSING COMMITTEE.
ADJOURNED ANNUAL MEETING. . The adjourned annual meeting of the Patea Liic-eii.sing Committee was held this afternoon, the members of the committee present being Messis. J. S. Barton (chair), E. A. Pacey, C. J. Hawken and E. Dixon. An application for a renewal of the license for the Dominion Hotel, Hawera, was granted, the police reporting that the work -asked for bad been done. In connection with an application for renewal of the license for the Alton Hotel, the Public Trustee reported that a contract had been let for complete repairs to the building. The application was accordingly adjourned until the September meeting of the committee.
The application for renewal of the license for the Commercial Hotel, Waverley, w-a;c also adjourned until the September meeting, it being reported that an ' agreement had been arrived at between the Health Department and the owner as- to the system of drainage to be i installed. Work would -be commenced at once. NEW MEMBER.
The Patea Licensing Committee lias decided to recommend, the GovernorGeneral to appoint Mr. John Gray, of Hawera, ,to- the vacancy on. the committee caused by the death of Mr. H, Graves. -
