BURNSIDE SALE.(BY TEIiEGHAHIi - -PP’-SS XSSOOI ATiON. ) DUNEDIN. May 13. There were large yatilings in all departments at Burnside sale to-day, the entry of store oattJe being the' largest seen at this sale for some years’. Eat Cattle. —There was a very fair demand and values were up to the prices of last week for prime cattle at the opening, but long before the eiotse values depreciated and prices slumped about 20s a head. The demand for inferior cattle was. slow. Extra prime bullocks .sold from £l3 lOsi to £2O, lighter from £l3 10s to £10; heavy prime cows from £7 10s to £B, lighter from £4 Ids to £6 I Os; prime, heifers from £7 to £S 15s, lighter from £5 15s to £5 16s. Fat Sheep.—-The. demand for all classes was much on a par with last week’s, with ewes perhaps somewhat niore firm.. Heavy prime wethers i went at from 50s 3d to 55s 6d, prime from. 37s- 9d to 40® 3d, lighter at 365; prime ewes from 34s 6d to 36s 9d. lighter from 23s to 295, inferior from 20s.

Lambs. —The tone for all grades was generally easier. Price* were Is to Is 6d easier than la.st week.
